Our appraisal services can be carried out on location or remotely, removing the cost and risk of shipping your artwork to be examined. Our appraisal reports cover the most critical aspects of valuation and include the following:

• Market analysis: a detailed assessment of past sales, ownership and exhibitions. An analysis of past and present sales and listings for comparatively relevant artworks.
• Condition: A detailed condition report including an assessment of previous conservation interventions and treatments.
• Technical analysis: A detailed examination of the artwork using high resolution forensic imaging techniques. Please find further details of these below.

Forensic imaging: Infrared (IR, IRT, IRF, IRFC), Ultraviolet (UVF, UVR), Micro/MacroPhotography. These services will help you to better understand the condition, potential authorship*, and material composition of your artwork. 

Professional Photography: Colour accurate high resolution imaging of your artwork is essential for documenting condition and communicating with auction houses, galleries, specialists and scholars. We do this on site, reducing transport costs and risk of damage.

*Please Note: We do not provide artist attributions but may suggest possible authorship or stylistic observations that would benefit our client to consider. We advise our clients that any third party who purports to offer them a firm attribution is likely offering them nothing more than a well informed opinion. It is nonetheless advisable to seek multiple well informed opinions. With the client’s approval, we may consult relevant scholars and experts for such opinions.
